Nettles

Spring nettles for soup. A weed yes but introduced by the Romans to Britain owing to their high nutritional content and medicinal qualities. Picked best while young in spring. Wash before use in a colander but wear gloves! Recently made more famous by the local film - The Nettle Dress!
